SHY Ceramics bowl, Lavender

This bowl is handmade. First, the bowl is shaped on a turntable. The twisted edge is shaped by hand with a small sling. The bowl is brushed with many layers of coating* and dried very slowly. The bowl is then fired at a low temperature and finally the bowl is glazed with a thin transparent glossy glaze and fired one last time, 

*Begging is primarily clay mixed with water and a dye. 

Earthenware is fired at a lower temperature than stoneware and porcelain, and is therefore slightly more fragile. It can still withstand the dishwasher and can be used for food and daily use. 

Small cracks will occur over time as with all earthenware. 

Each piece is signed and numbered.
