SHY Ceramics

Susanne Hoffmann is a Danish ceramicist born in Busan, South Korea and now lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. After a long career dedicated to fashion and art, Susanne decided to become a full-time ceramicist
and founded his own studio 'SHY' in 2017. The name is the initials of her Danish and Korean names,
Susanne and Hye-Yuen.
SHY's work is handmade in small batches in her studio in Copenhagen.
She exclusively uses traditional techniques such as hand throwing, coil building, carving and pinching.
All work is bisque fired, glazed and fired again. SHY produces both earthenware and stoneware ceramics.
Each ceramic piece is unique, signed and individually numbered.
